It is with deep sadness that ACRS acknowledges the passing of Australian Steel Institute CEO and past ACRS director, Tony Dixon.

Tonyʼs passion and dedication to the Australian steel industry were widely recognized over his many years in senior roles with OneSteel (now Liberty Steel) and, more recently, as Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Steel Institute, during which Tony lead the ASI through a period of unprecedented changes and transition in the steel sector.
ACRS Chairman, Nick Hill, said “Tony was a member of the ACRS Board between 2015 and 2017. During his tenure, Tony contributed significantly to ACRS Strategic Renewal and development. Tony will be remembered for a long and distinguished career across the steel sector including working at senior levels within BHP and Arrium/OneSteel prior to taking the helm at the Australian Steel Institute until stepping down very recently.”
