Recently reported concerns regarding supply of nonconforming hollow sections has led to demands from several roads authorities and major builders for ACRS to cover larger diameters than are supplied to AS/NZS 1163.

To address this demand, ACRS now offers certification to BS EN 10219. This UK/EU Standard is used to supply many of the larger sizes supplied to Australian and New Zealand projects.

Where a certified site already manufacturers materials to AS/NZS 1163, only one assessment fee will be payable for assessment to both Standards and there will only be the additional costs of testing and certificate issue for the second standard. This practice will provide a significantly reduced cost to the manufacturer whilst maintaining the full rigour of ACRS ongoing production review for the benefit of the customer and public.
