Following extensive consultations across our broad range of stakeholders over the past year, ACRS has just released Scheme Rules Version 11. This new version contains significant revisions and is linked to the associated, revised set of ACRS product requirements. Whilst maintaining the rigour and scope of the ACRS product certification scheme required by certificate users, these changes include provision for certificate holders to be exempt from the requirement to be certified for all product classes where the certificate holder can demonstrate identification and control of the materials not included under their certification. This important change allows commercial flexibility to steel suppliers whist at the same time ensuring confidence in steel supply where ACRS certification is specified and demonstrates ACRS ongoing commitment to delivering confidence and clarity to the all parts of construction industry, including steel suppliers.
